Introduction
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ASB Travel Insurance website, www.zurich.asbtravel.co.nz, including all subpages and related content hosted under this domain (collectively, “the Site”).
The Site is owned and managed by Zurich Australian Insurance Limited, incorporated in Australia, ACN 000 296 640, trading as Zurich New Zealand (“Zurich New Zealand”), Level 9, 29 Customs Street West, Auckland 1010, New Zealand. ASB Bank Limited (‘ASB’) does not have access to the Site, does not collect any personal information via this Site and has no liability in relation to this Site.
In these Terms, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Zurich New Zealand. Travel Guard companies (also part of the Zurich Insurance Group) act as a service provider for Zurich New Zealand and provide services in support of ASB Travel Insurance, as permitted by applicable laws. Travel Guard may also be referred to as “we” in these Terms where it acts as the service provider on policies underwritten by Zurich New Zealand.
By accessing or using this Site, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must refrain from using the Site. These Terms may be updated from time to time, and your continued use of the Site shall constitute your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Scope of use and Access
The Site provides information about ASB Travel Insurance, including policy benefits, information on claims, complaints and emergency assistance services, responses to frequently asked questions (FAQs), contact details, privacy and more.
The Site also includes an activation questionnaire for eligible ASB Visa Platinum Rewards cardholders to confirm activation of travel insurance and purchase optional extensions (such as cover for pre-existing medical conditions, cruises, trip duration extension, mature age cover and specified items).
You must only use the Site for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
use the Site in any manner that contravenes applicable laws or regulations;
transmit or otherwise make available any material that is defamatory, obscene, offensive, unlawful or infringes the rights of any third party;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site including systems or data;
interfere with or disrupt the operation, integrity or security of the Site or any related services.
Access and use of the Site is intended for eligible ASB Visa Platinum Rewards cardholders with travel insurance underwritten by Zurich New Zealand. No offer or solicitation is made to any person outside New Zealand. Policies activated or purchased via the Site outside of New Zealand are not valid.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time if you breach these Terms or where we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity.
Intellectual Property
All content, materials and functionality available on the Site, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, software and design elements, are the property of Zurich New Zealand or its related companies or respective licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may download or print content for personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, transmit, reuse or otherwise exploit any content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
All trademarks, service marks, trade names and logos displayed on the Site are the property of Zurich New Zealand or its related companies. Use of these marks without express written permission is prohibited.
All ASB-owned trademarks, service marks, trade names and logos on the Site remain the property of ASB or its related companies.
Privacy
Personal information collected via the Site is collected, used and handled in accordance with the Zurich Privacy Policy, available at https://www.zurich.co.nz/important-information/privacy.
General Advice
The information on the Site is intended to be general in nature and does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs, so consider its appropriateness before acting on it. For more information on what’s insured and excluded under ASB Travel Insurance policy, including terms, limits, conditions and exclusions that apply, please refer to the applicable policy wording.
Limitation of Liability
The Site and all content therein are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we make no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, suitability or availability of the Site or any content on the Site. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or free from viruses or other harmful components. You acknowledge that your use of the Site is at your own risk.
To the extent permitted by law, Zurich New Zealand and its related companies and its suppliers exclude all liability for any loss, damages, costs, claims or expenses arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, including but not limited to:
errors or omissions in the content;
loss of data, system failure or interruption;
access difficulties, software or hardware malfunction due to accessing the Site or any of the content contained on the Site;
reliance on any information or content provided on the Site

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. These links may be provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement or approval by us of the content, products or services offered by those third parties.
Zurich New Zealand, its related companies and its suppliers do not accept any responsibility or liability for the content, accuracy or legality of third-party websites or for any loss or damage arising from your use of such websites. You must verify whether a third-party page is part of the Site before relying on its content.
Cookies and other technologies
Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers transferred to your device’s hard drive through your web browser for record-keeping purposes. Some cookies make it easier for you to navigate the Site, while others enable tracking of user activity. There are two types of cookies: session and persistent cookies.
Session cookies: Session cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from your device when you close your browser or turn off your device. Session cookies allow our systems to uniquely identify you during a session.
Persistent cookies: Persistent cookies remain on your device after you have closed your browser or turned off your device. These are used to track aggregate and statistical information about user activity.
By using the Site, you consent to our use of cookies. You may be able to manage your cookie preferences by configuring certain preferences in your browser settings; however, doing so may impair the functionality of the Site and mean you are not able to access all features of the Sites.
Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on your computer’s hard drive, clear GIFs are embedded invisibly on web pages. We may use clear GIFs (a.k.a. web beacons, web bugs or pixel tags), in connection with the Site to, among other things, track user activity across the Site, help manage content and compile statistics about Site usage.
Automated tools and applications may also be used to evaluate usage of the Site. In addition, other analytic technologies may be used to assess performance and improve user experience. These technologies may use cookies and other tracking technologies, such as web beacons, to perform the services.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Zealand in respect of any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site.
